Oil and yields easing. Stocks have the wind behind them.
IS THE WIND WITH THE DOW,
OR AGAINST IT?OIL × YIELDS → US STOCKS, READ OFF REAL CME FUTURES, LIVE.
TradePappy watches E-mini Dow, WTI crude and 10-year Treasury futures and turns them into one word: TAILWIND, HEADWIND, MIXED or NEUTRAL. With the candles underneath, the yield level against the 5% line, a divergence alarm when the Dow fights its own macro, and alerts to your phone when the regime flips.
It is a regime gauge, not a tipster. It never says buy or sell. It tells you what kind of tape you are trading in, so a rally on a hot CPI morning reads as "oil is doing the work" instead of "this makes no sense".
Oil and yields rising. Stocks are fighting the wind.
The legs disagree. Yields win the tiebreak.
No macro pressure either way.
TWO MORNINGS, ONE GLANCE
WTI +4%, 10-year yields +8bp, Dow -0.6%. The model implied -0.62%; the Dow did -0.64%. Nothing to explain: the macro was the story.
Core CPI printed hot and hike odds jumped, yet the Dow rallied 1.1%. Crude had dumped 5% the same morning. Oil down, yields flat: tailwind. The rally was not crazy, and the deck said so at 09:00 Chicago.
Both days are built into the deck as replays, so you can watch them unfold minute by minute before you pay a cent. Then load any trading day since 2020.
WHAT YOU GET
- Five signals on one screen: Macro Pressure, The 5% Line, Oil Shock, Dow Tape, Risk Dial. Every state is a word plus a glyph, readable without colour.
- Candlesticks for every leg with the window start and anchor price marked, so the number in the panel is visible in the chart.
- Four windows: five minutes, thirty minutes, the Globex session, the US cash session. Flip between them with one key.
- The tape: every regime change, timestamped in Chicago time. Notifications and a beep on the desk; Telegram, webhook or email on your phone.
- Scheduled events drawn on the charts and counted down in the header, so MIXED at 07:31 on CPI day reads as expected, not as a signal.
- Honesty built in: STALE when data is older than fifteen seconds, CLOSED when CME is closed, and a published backtest that says plainly how little any two numbers explain about the Dow. The state is a description of the wind, never a forecast.

WHO MAKES THIS
TradePappy is a product of Ingeniant LLC, a software and data engineering company. The deck is built on CME Globex market data delivered by Databento, and on a simple idea from a real trading morning: when the news says one thing and the index does another, look at oil and yields first.
